The Architectural Acoustics Consulting Division:

Deliberative Designs provides advanced architectural acoustical design and multimedia systems technology design (including audio, video, IT, & control) for all types of professional clients.

We work with you, your staff, your organizational entity, any applicable oversight boards, your architect, other specialty-engineering firms (Mechanical & Electrical), interior designers, the contractors, and (where applicable) the subcontractors involved in your project, to help you achieve and exceed all of your acoustical requirements and your multi-media technology objectives.

Our goal is to be your technology resource, a partner you can trust to orchestrate all aspects involved in achieving your goals for the integrated electronic and acoustic systems used by your organization in your facility.  We are more than acousticians, system designers, and engineers. As our working relationship grows, we often become technology managers for our clients.

Although we eschew conventional labels, we are a technology consulting and design engineering group (for both architectural acoustics, software, and hardware), as well as an owner’s agent, installation oversight/supervisor/inspector, and user training firm. We're not afraid to dig in deep and get our hands dirty!

Helping people solve their technology problems is our reason for existing, and we love what we do!  Where we differ from other typical consultants, contractors, and systems integrators is in our extensive cross-disciplinary technical knowledge and in our total commitment to serving our clients. We do everything possible to help our clients achieve their goals in a timely and cost-effective manner.

We have structured our organization in a highly flexible manner to achieve this. We can provide services ranging from simple remote phone advice to total on-site project management and operation. Our goal is the successful completion of your project and your total satisfaction with our performance on your behalf. We provide these services both for new construction, remodels, and retrofits.

The Hawks Nest Too Recording Studios division:

Hawksnest Too is our in-house production facility. We specialize in acoustic music, jazz, bluegrass, classical, and Americana genres. Short order, high lonesome is music to our ears.

It was named after Hawks Nest Beach in St. John, USVI, which holds a special place in our hearts.

Michael Schwartz is our in-house engineer and producer, with multiple credits from major labels, as well as credits for independent labels and artists. This includes several gold and platinum records, as well as a couple of Grammy awards. Our second engineers are two loving canines!

The studio is not open to the public, and is available by appointment only to our musical friends/associates, and for our personal creative adventures.

We are associated with Magic Diamond Studios, a state of the art musicians' clubhouse that we designed for our friend, Stafford Carpenter, and sometimes work out of. This is located in a beautiful mountain setting in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. It features an impressive control room and comfortable residential studio, centered around a massive Sony/API analog mixing desk. The views from the deck (of the top of Pikes Peak and the surrounding forests) are truly breathtaking. There are facilities available for guest artists who wish to stay overnight as well. Magic Diamond offers an extensive collection of analog and digital outboard equipment, microphones, instruments, and monitor systems. 

Like Hawks Nest Too, Magic Diamond is a private facility not open to the public.

The Electronic Product Development Division:

Although we are currently not involved with any new products, we have in the past developed specialty products for our clients that were not available commercially anywhere else. This includes automated microphone cable reelers, specialty headphone amplifiers, powered desktop legislative individual member loudspeakers with physical and acoustical cancellation of unwanted noise, custom studio moniroing systems, custom dsp systems, custom sound reinforcement loudspeaker systems using the highest technology available, and much much more.
